GCSE
GCSE stands for General
Certificate of Secondary Education and is the basis qualification
of the English education system. GCSEs are primarily targeted at secondary
school pupils, but are also suitable for adults.
GCSE Dutch:
There are four examination papers, one each for speaking, listening, reading,
and writing. 25% of the marks are awarded for each paper. Dictionaries are not allowed in
the examinations.
The provisional dates for the summer 2010 GCSE Dutch exams are:
Speaking: 08/05/2010 10:00-13:00 *
Listening: 17/05/2010 09:00-09:50
Reading: 19/05/2010 13:30-14:30
Writing: 25/05/2010 13:30-14:45
* Students will be notified of the time of their individual speaking exam
closer to the exam. The above date and times for the speaking examination
are set by the Dutch Language School and are likely to be different at
other examination centres. It is possible to sit the speaking exam with
us at a different date and time.
The GCSE Dutch exams take place once per year in the summer.
GCSE Dutch Examination:
You may sit your 2010 GCSE Dutch examination at our
school in Oxford:
We charge £115 to enrol you with the OCR examination board
and to sit all the GCSE Dutch examinations with us at the above dates
and times.
We charge £143 to enrol you with the OCR examination board
and to sit all the GCSE Dutch examinations with us at the above dates
and times, if your entry is received after 16/02/2010.
We charge £62 to perform a GCSE speaking examination in Oxford on Saturday 8/05/2010 on behalf of another school.
This would be where your school enters you for your GCSE Dutch examinations but is unable to find a suitable examiner for the speaking exam. You would sit the other three papers at your own school.
We charge £81 to perform a GCSE speaking examination in Oxford on a mutually convenient date and time on behalf of another school.
This would be where your school enters you for your GCSE Dutch examinations but is unable to find a suitable examiner for the speaking exam. You would sit the other three papers at your own school.
We will accept GCSE Dutch examination entries for the 2010 exams up until 1 April 2010.
GCSE Mock Examinations:
Mock exams are an excellent way to find out which
parts of the examinations you already do well and which parts you can
improve upon. We believe completing mock exams will increase your chances
of a higher grade in the actual exams.
You may sit GCSE Dutch Mock examinations
at our school in Oxford:
We charge £91 to sit all four GCSE Dutch mock examinations
with us on 30/01/2010.
We charge £103 to sit all four GCSE Dutch mock examinations
at home or school. We will post you the exam papers and the listening material for you to complete the listening, reading, and writing papers at home or at school and to return your completed papers to us for marking. The speaking exam will be conducted by telephone on a mutually convenient time and date.
We charge £38 to sit just the mock speaking examination with us on 31/01/2010.
We charge £54 to sit just the mock speaking examination with us on a mutually convenient day.
We charge £43 to mark one speaking paper that we post to you and then conduct by telephone on a mutually convenient time and date.
We charge £32 to mark one listening paper that we post to you to complete and return for marking.
We charge £29 to mark one reading paper that we post to you to complete and return for marking.
We charge £33 to mark one writing paper that we post to you to complete and return for marking.
All mock examinations include exam papers and marking. We will also send you a brief assessment of your result (within 7 days) indicating what you have done well and how you can improve. We also include example answers for the listening, reading, and writing papers.
All our GCSE Dutch exams and mock exams are OCR code 1921.

This course would suit you if you are able to attend
classes at our school in Oxford.
Distance
Learning GCSE Dutch course
This course would suit you if you live further
away from Oxford or if you prefer to study at home in your own time.
All our GCSE Dutch courses in this 2009-2010 academic year are designed to prepare students for the GCSE Dutch exams set by the OCR examination board (code 1921).
