Part 2 and part 3 will be delivered on completion of the preceding part.

As well as preparing you for the extended syllabus of the IGCSE Foreign Language Dutch examinations, this course also covers every area of the basic Dutch grammar, giving you a thorough grounding in the language. This course is principally focused on preparing you for the Reading and Directed Writing and the Continuous Writing examinations.

We usually recommend that students begin this course in the autumn, say in September or October, to prepare for exams the following summer. However, you may start any time from the end of July until the beginning of December. The very latest starting date is the second week of December provided you have a very good elementary level and are prepared to complete 2 lessons per week.

This course is suitable for adults and children from the age of about 14.

What you will need before starting this course:
A good elementary level in Dutch equivalent to about 50 to 60 hours of Dutch lessons (grammar you should be familiar with). We will ask you to complete our online Dutch test and write a short passage in Dutch before starting this course to ensure that your level is appropriate.
• Access to a computer (so that you can complete your homework assignments).
• Access to the Internet (so that you can copy your homework templates and view your course status).
• An e-mail account (so that you can return your homework assignments and communicate with your teacher).
• Microsoft Word or other software that can display the 'track changes' information created by Microsoft Word (for viewing your corrected homework assignments).
