This course will suit you if you already have a proficiency in Dutch close to GCSE Dutch standard,
but require exam training lessons to help achieve a top grade.
The course consists of:
20
lessons covering topics from the GCSE Dutch syllabus.
Selected Dutch grammar covered by the GCSE Dutch syllabus.
The examination procedures, instructions, formats, and exam
practise, etc.
Audio CDs with listening exercises.
Templates for all the homework exercises available online. Just fill them in and send them off!
Homework correction by e-mail.
E-mail support from a qualified
Dutch teacher for 12 months. With the option to purchase extended supprt if needed.
Course progress status available online.
A half hour telephone session with the teacher at the end of each part of the course.
FREE sample exam papers.
This course is designed to
be completed in one academic year where each
lesson takes between one and two hours of study to complete. You
may study at your own pace and send in your homework assignments
when you are ready. The course is
delivered in three parts. Part 2 and part 3 will be delivered on completion of the preceding part.
As well as preparing you for the GCSE examinations,
this course also revises key areas of the Dutch grammar in preparation for the exams. This course is principally focused on preparing you for the Reading and the Writing examinations.
We usually recommend that students begin this
course in the autumn, say in September or October, to prepare for
exams the following summer. However, you may start any time from
the end of July until the beginning of January. The very latest
starting date is the second week of January provided you have a
very good elementary level in Dutch and are prepared to complete 2 lessons
per week.
This course is suitable for adults and children
from the age of about 14.
This GCSE Dutch course is designed to prepare students for the GCSE Dutch exams set by the OCR examination board (codes A801, A802, A803, & A804).
What you will need before starting this course:
A good
elementary level in Dutch equivalent to about 90 to 100 hours of
Dutch lessons (grammar
you should be familiar with). We will ask you to complete our
online Dutch test and write a short passage in Dutch before starting this course to ensure that your
level is appropriate. Access to a computer (so that you can complete your homework assignments).
Access to the Internet (so that you can copy your homework templates and view your course status).
An e-mail account (so that you
can return your homework
assignments and communicate with your teacher).
Microsoft Word or other software that can display the 'track changes' information created by Microsoft Word (for viewing your corrected homework assignments).
Examinations:
You
may also sit your GCSE
Dutch exams or mock exams at our school in Oxford. The cost
of enrolling for the examinations and/or mock examinations is in
addition to the cost of this course.
